The Rohm and Haas Paint Quality Institute (PQI) has expanded
and improved its Web site, www.paintquality.com. The site,
a comprehensive, educational resource on painting and decorating,
now contains updated information, customized for each visitor
-- whether do-it-yourselfer, painting contractor or member
of the press.
Navigating the site is easier than ever, and visitors can
access almost any bit of information in just two or three
clicks. Plus, new links within the “newsletter”
sections direct visitors to a more in-depth description
of selected topics with just one click. According to Pam
Rogers, director of sales and marketing, “These improvements
are designed to eliminate aimless ‘surfing,’ by
taking users to the information they want in a more efficient
manner.”
D-I-Y
Help
Do-it-yourselfers
can select from a host of expanded features. A new web-based
consumer newsletter - called “In the Know” - keeps
D-I-Y enthusiasts up-to-date on the latest decorating trends
and gives how-to instructions on cutting-edge decorative
painting techniques.
A
monthly “Featured Product” section focuses on
new paint technologies and simplifies sometimes-confusing
new product descriptions and applications, as well as providing
updates on existing products. Old favorites -- the paint
calculator, the interactive “Problem Solver”,
the “Choosing the Right Paint” section, and a
wealth of how-to instructions -- are still available.
Enhancements
for Contractors
Improvements
have also been made to aid painting contractors. For this
audience, the information is a little more technical, delving
deeper into the nuts and bolts of painting and paint products.
The contractor newsletter, already a popular source of information
for the contractor community, has been expanded; the site
also includes an archive of past issues.
Paintquality.com
also offers contractors tips on ways to grow their business,
selling sheets to use with customers, and information on
products and trends.
The new www.paintquality.com also contains helpful information
for specifiers, such as architects and building managers;
and paint salespeople.
For
the press, a wealth of articles is available in the upgraded
Press Room. Plus, an optional log-in feature allows journalists
to register to receive the latest information as soon as
it is available.
PQI
Store
As
part of the site upgrade, the PQI Store is now open for
business. With a couple of clicks, anyone can purchase PQI-produced
items such as color and decorating fan decks and paint training
videos.
